BE A PRO 2012/2013 High performance program

U15 is a key transition stage where athletes begin to shift from simply practicing skills to training with intention and purpose. As the game speeds up and expectations increase, players who continue to progress are the ones who learn how to take responsibility for their preparation. This phase is about teaching athletes how to train properly—showing up focused, understanding the goal of each session, and starting to take ownership of their development in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.

Our U15 program is structured to introduce clear standards and consistent routines while keeping development the priority. Training integrates skating, skill work, strength, and speed in a balanced weekly schedule that reinforces accountability and attention to detail. Sessions are designed to challenge athletes to execute with focus and control, while still fostering confidence and enjoyment.

A valuable component of this program is limited exposure to older training groups in select sessions. These opportunities are earned through effort, maturity, and readiness, and help athletes understand the standards required at the next level. Training alongside older players raises awareness, encourages better habits, and motivates athletes to take pride in how they prepare.

on-ice development

Our U15 program is built around executing skills at higher speeds while improving awareness, positioning, and competitive habits. Players develop the ability to make clean, efficient plays at pace, read the ice effectively, and consistently arrive in the right spots. Skills are trained under increasing pressure and tempo, reinforcing habits that translate directly to game situations—fast decisions, strong positioning, and a compete level that holds up when the game speeds up.On the ice, we push pace, competitiveness, and positional detail while reinforcing the habits required at higher levels.

Ryan shares insight on mindset shifts and the tendencies elite players rely on when the game speeds up. With forward- and defence-specific drills, athletes learn to play to their strengths, think the game faster, and make adjustments that elevate performance at the U15 level and beyond.

off-ice development

Our U15 program is built to develop movement quality first, introduce structured strength training, and establish a foundation of speed and plyometric ability. Athletes learn how to move well before they move heavy or fast, reinforcing proper mechanics that support long-term development. Gym sessions at the Canmore Rec Center focus on foundational strength, coordination, and force control.

Training places a strong emphasis on building resilient movement through the hips, groins, shoulders, and neck—areas critical for durability and injury prevention. Athletes are taught early recovery and nutrition habits a

mindset development

Co-founders Noah and Sam firmly believe that a player’s mindset is their most valuable asset. The hockey journey is full of challenges—whether it’s choosing the right team, handling personal setbacks, dealing with being a healthy scratch, or facing the many uncertainties that come with the game. Our goal is to ensure players are mentally prepared to tackle these obstacles head-on.

We provide practical, actionable strategies that help players focus on what truly matters. Too often, players are consumed by worry—fear of making mistakes, concern over slow progress, or anxiety about whether a coach approves of them. Our approach shifts this mindset, guiding players to focus on the present moment. By fostering gratitude, presence, and a task-oriented mentality instead of a goal-obsessed one, athletes can unlock new levels of success both on and off the ice.

Learning to embrace the present moment allows players to put in the necessary work, find their flow, and play without tension. This mindset not only elevates their performance but also helps them enjoy the process, unlocking their full potential as both hockey players and individuals.

  • You’ll receive off-ice training plans through the Trainerize app to complete on your own. This ensures you’re ready to start the program at full intensity.

  • No need! Jerseys and socks are provided. Bring your own workout gear, though we’re exploring partnerships to potentially supply this as well.

  • The program is tailored for competitive players—high end U18, junior, collegiate, or pro—who are serious about taking their game to the next level.

  • Yes, recovery is built into the program. You’ll have access to physiotherapists and personalized prehab plans to keep you in peak condition.

  • We use comprehensive fitness testing and track performance metrics like weights lifted and body composition to monitor your development.

  • The only additional cost will be if you opt to purchase off ice training apparel. Other than that their are no hidden costs.

  • Of course! Coaches are always available for feedback, advice, and support to maximize your experience.

  • We do offer an on-ice-only option; however, the pricing per session is higher. This is because we strongly encourage all players to fully commit to the complete program. Players who immerse themselves in both the on-ice training and off-ice workouts experience significantly greater physical and mental benefits, making the program far more impactful overall.

  • This is the biggest thing we wanted to improve upon from last summer. This summer training times are the same all summer. This makes it far easier for athletes to get into a routine and plan work and social schedules around the program. The only difference week to week will be the occasional day off for bank holidays.
