be a pro JR-PRO SUMMER program
Heading into its third year, the Be a Pro Elite Program will include an extra week, running from June 8th to August 14th. Across the summer, players will complete 46 off-ice sessions and 27 on-ice sessions, with consistent ice times on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and gym workouts on the same days, plus field workouts every Tuesday and Thursday. All ice times and gym sessions will take place at the Canmore Rec Centre, while the location of field workouts are TBD.
Purchasing the combined on- and off-ice option provides the best value and the best results, because we’ve seen firsthand that players make the biggest gains when their skating, strength, conditioning, and mindset are all trained together in one integrated program.
Athletes train with while being coached by current pros who hold themselves to the exact same standards they expect from you, giving you a real look at how professionals prepare physically and mentally for a season. You’ll see the habits, details, and routines that actually translate to higher-level play, while our coaching staff focuses on refining your skills and overall game so nothing is missed. Every session is designed to push your performance forward and prepare you to step into your next level with confidence.
This program offers
ON-ICE TRAINING • OFF-ICE TRAINING • MINDSET COACHING
on-ice development
Our focus is on quality and enjoyment, combining skill development with hockey philosophy and mindset training. On the ice, we’ll build fundamental skills while exploring elite techniques, competition, and professional nuances, emphasizing habits even the best players maintain. Ryan shares insights on mindset shifts and the tendencies of great players that distinguish good from great athletes.
This program helps players work smarter, maximize potential, and tailor their game to unique strengths. By understanding habits specific to the pro level, players can make adjustments that elevate performance. Our goal is to help every player discover what works best for them. The program will have a focus on defence and forward specific drills to ensure you’re getting the most out of the program no matter your position.
off-ice development
Our program is built to help players develop elite training habits, master proper nutrition, and foster a sense of community while building strength and power. Workouts at the Canmore Rec Center Gym (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) focus on developing strength and power, while sessions at Lions Park Field (Tuesday and Thursday) emphasize speed, mobility, and hockey-specific injury prevention. These sessions target key areas like hips, groins, shoulders, and neck to keep players strong and injury-free.
Players will track progress, body weight, and nutrition through the Trainerize app, ensuring consistent improvement—even when away. This summer, we’re offering even more benefits. First, we’ve added detailed fitness testing at the start and end of the program to identify specific needs and measure gains in strength and speed.
This program is designed to give players every tool they need to improve, stay healthy, and take their game to the next level.
mindset development
Co-founders Noah and Sam firmly believe that a player’s mindset is their most valuable asset. The hockey journey is full of challenges—whether it’s choosing the right team, handling personal setbacks, dealing with being a healthy scratch, or facing the many uncertainties that come with the game. Our goal is to ensure players are mentally prepared to tackle these obstacles head-on.
We provide practical, actionable strategies that help players focus on what truly matters. Too often, players are consumed by worry—fear of making mistakes, concern over slow progress, or anxiety about whether a coach approves of them. Our approach shifts this mindset, guiding players to focus on the present moment. By fostering gratitude, presence, and a task-oriented mentality instead of a goal-obsessed one, athletes can unlock new levels of success both on and off the ice.
Learning to embrace the present moment allows players to put in the necessary work, find their flow, and play without tension. This mindset not only elevates their performance but also helps them enjoy the process, unlocking their full potential as both hockey players and individuals.

We do offer an on-ice-only option; however, the pricing per session is higher. This is because we strongly encourage all players to fully commit to the complete program. Players who immerse themselves in both the on-ice training and off-ice workouts experience significantly greater physical and mental benefits, making the program far more impactful overall.
-
This is the biggest thing we wanted to improve upon from last summer. This summer training times are the same all summer. This makes it far easier for athletes to get into a routine and plan work and social schedules around the program. The only difference week to week will be the occasional day off for bank holidays.
